2011 Summer Movie Preview

Summer is almost here guys and I feel compelled to enlighten you about the amazing movies that are going to be released over our long and most needed break.  From June 3rd to August 27t,h there are ten movies that are coming out that I highly recommend that you see: these movies possess a lot of potential to be the best movies of 2011.

X-Men First Class

X-Men First Class

Release Date: June 3rd

Plot: X- Men First Class is about two best friends, Charles, Professor X (James McAvoy) and Erik, Magneto (Michael Fassbender) who start to discover that they possess special powers. Upon finding this out they discover others who also have these special powers and they soon put them to use when global crises start to come up.  As the story goes on a rift starts to develop between Charles and Erik which will eventually cause them to start their own alliances of good and evil mutants.  Once the alliances are formed an all out battle of good viruses’ evil will begin…

Release Date: June 3rd

Plot: In the summer of 1979 in a small town in Ohio a pack of young friends(Joel Courtney, Elle Fanning, Riley Griffiths) are making a movie one night. While shooting a scene with a train something crazy happens: the train crashes. After the crash odd disappearances start to occur and the military comes in to stop whatever it is that is responsible.

Green Lantern

Plot: An air force pilot, Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) gets a ring passed onto him that gives him extraordinary powers. He later finds out that he is not the only one with one of these rings, but in fact there is an intergalactic squadron that he is now part of.  Once Hal joins this alliance various outside powers start to threaten it’s existence…

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Release Date: July 1st

Plot: The Autobots and the Decepticons have been battling ever since their alliances were created: in this third installment of the Transformers films their final battle is about to take place. While this is going on the Autobots learn of a hidden spaceship on the moon that could be the key to ending this battle once and for all.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II

Release Date: July 15th

Plot: In this second part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint), and Hermione (Emma Watson) go back to Hogwarts to locate and terminate Voldemort’s final horcruxes.Voldermort finds out about this which ignites a battle that will change everything: will Harry, Ron, and Hermione succeed or will they fail and bring their world as they know it to a crashing end?

Captain America: The First Avenger

Plot: During WWII Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) wants to join the army: he is deemed unfit. Just as he thought his dreams of being in the army were shattered he is asked to be the subject of a top secret military project. He takes part in the project and becomes the best soldier ever to join the army: Captain America.

Cowboys and Aliens

Release Date: July 29th

Plot: In 1873 in Absolution, Arizona a lawman (Harrison Ford) keeps his town in good order, but when a stranger (Daniel Craig) comes in with something kind of lethal wrist gadget unknown to this Earth the town gets shook up. After only a little while of being there it seems that an alien race comes to take over Earth starting with Absolution. Now this little town is forced to work with this stranger to battle off these invaders…

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Release Date: August 5th

Plot: In San Francisco a scientist named Will Rodman (James Franco) experiments with genetic engineering of apes. This genetic engineering will lead to the apes becoming intelligent, perhaps more intelligent than us. This will soon start a war between man and ape over whom is more dominant.

Conan the Barbarian        

Release Date: August 19th

Plot: In the early years of 10,000 B.C in the country of Hyboria Conan the Barbarian (Jason Momoa) is out for blood: the blood of the tribe that slaughtered his family along with his entire village. As Conan sets out on his journey of revenge he runs into many enemies, one as deadly as the next. Each and everyone trying to stop him from completing his quest.

Release Date: August 12th

Plot: Nick (Jesse Eisenberg) is your average everyday pizza delivery boy. He wasn’t looking for any trouble, but today trouble found him: Nick gets kidnapped by two criminals (Danny McBride, Nick Swardson) who strap a bomb to his chest and tell him that if he doesn’t rob a bank he will be blown to bits. Nick now motivated to save his own life starts to rob the bank, but thinking that he might not be able to pull it off he desperately gets help from the only person who can be of any assistance: his ex-best friend Chet(Aziz Ansari). As time goes by in the bank the two are faced with the police, hired assassins and their rocky relationship.
